SQUADRA OMEGA - LOST COAST (A M.A.LITTLER FILM)

Year: 2015
Record label: Boring Machines

LOST COAST
Shot against the backdrop of California's most remote coastal region Lost Coast is a personal quest for transcendental values in troubled times and a quiet cinematic celebration of the beauty and immensity of the natural world. The film aims to remind us that today's mindless commoditization, cold efficiancy and endless acceleration lead to a streamlined citizenry and to a spiritual vacuum. Equal parts film essay and travelogue Lost Coast questions today's materialistic value system and reminds us that we do not exist outside of nature but that we in fact are nature.
M.A.Littler, the film director, asked Squadra Omega to provide a soundtrack to this particular story and then used parts of the recorded sessions he was sent, in sparse bits all over the film.

LOST COAST (a M.A.Littler film)
Recorded, mixed and mastered at OutsideInside studio in Montebelluna (TV), the entire recording session for the movie soundtrack is now available to widen the experience of this immersive long walk in total solitude.
Rumbling guitar drones, musing flutes and thundering piano make up for an intense listening experience which adds a new layer to the film viewing, or just creates an alternative image sequence in your mind while listening.
So slow down, reflect, take in the beauty and walk the shores of the Lost Coast with this sounds.

It is said that all empires are built upon the ruins of previous empires. It is said that destruction breeds construction. In times of deadlocked aesthetics and stylistic stagnation the time is nigh for a destruction of the old and the construction of the new. From the rubble of a post-post modern world, Apollo is rising and he is accompanied by a tribe of psychedelic wasteland fellaheen – the Squadra Omega. The winds are shifting, the fog is lifting and a new age is acoming.
Spaceage Cubist-Free-Jazz clashes with Pygmy-Percussion-No Wave-Kraut Rock causing a sonic fusion leading to a complete derangement of the senses, an assault on the frontal lobe and permanent hallucination. This is music from the Third Eye. (M.A.Littler)

Squadra Omega sounds like an old drunken kosmik orchestra mixed with the noises from a 56k modem, with all the influences that they brought inside the project, they know exactly where they come from but don’t know where they are going, each time is different.
